A pre-handover checklist for a Melton South home
The items that get measured rather than described.
In short: Handover here is about numbers: crack widths, wall tolerances and fixing methods.
Book before the date
Practical completion is your last leverage. A week's notice is enough.
Slab cracking
Measured, then categorised. Ours came in between 2mm and 4mm, over tolerance.
Wall straightness
Bow is checked against a 5mm tolerance, not judged by eye.
Cappings
Fixed from above is not the detail. It has to be fixed the way the system requires.
Plumbing
Mixers checked for leaks, and taps operated to listen for water hammer.
Sealing
Wall, eave, door and window joints caulked as required.
